Free College Tuition

Education is the key to a successful future. People go to school and try to get a higher education so that they will be able to support themselves and have a better life in the long run. That being said, it makes no sense that college students who are trying to better themselves are struggling to pay for a higher education. It already takes a tremendous amount of effort for someone to attend years of school and receive a college degree. People shouldn’t have to worry about drowning in student debt in the process.
In his “College for All Act,” Bernie Sanders proposes free tuition for college students. He argues that college tuition today is equivalent to a high school diploma in previous generations. I agree with this and believe that this act is a great idea. In today’s society, it’s almost impossible to find a job that will provide security without first receiving a college education. Providing free college tuition to the students who are willing to work for a better life is more than reasonable. It would give everyone a fair chance to have the kind of life that they want and deserve.

  1. I completely agree with my colleagues opinion on this post, Bernie Sanders "College for All Act" is an excellent idea that should be considered. I did look more into it, and this is definitely a great way to give young people from low and middle income families the opportunity of a lifetime; to be able to attend public colleges or universities for free. It is a disgrace how hundreds of young people today do not go to college simply because they can't afford it. This is not a radical idea from what I read as I looked more into it, this is something other countries have done, so why can't we do it. In addition to that, there is also many students that have to work up to two jobs during the day or even at night, to be able to afford college on top of student loans. There is also current college graduates who owe big loans and are in debt. Students shouldn't have to drown in debt to get the education they need to survive. Education is a must and it is very important, an educated person has more chances of landing up a good high paying job. Giving this opportunity to young people who are determined to be successful is definitely a great idea. Yes "This legislation will make our economy stronger and more productive". -Bernie Sanders

  3. When I read this, I though of it as a really good idea, but it also brought me some questions. Would it really help us to have free college? Since everyone would be able to go to college and getting a degree would make the search for a job more competitive, since there will be more college graduates those jobs that require college education will be filled soon, and the other people will still be without a job, so the job requirements will have to rise, such as to now requiring a masters degree or higher.
Also, who would be pay for the college tuition, since it will be free? The money to pay the schools still have to come out of somewhere, and I'm sure that because of this we would have to pay more taxes, so I'm not sure if having free tuition would really help all of us.
